How can I tell which one I need. 84 Vanagon Digijet. ************************ George - Actually, there were/are 3 manufacturers of the Hall Control Unit mounted on the side firewall: Fairchild, Telefunken & Bosch. And all three are interchangeable. Old VW Numbers 211905351B 211905351D Current replacement from VW is 191905351B. The replacement has a heat sink attached to the back side of it for better heat dissapation when attached to the existing finned heat sink, so be sure to use longer sheet metal screws when attaching it. I have one of these on my 84 Westy - works fine. Ron at Bus Depot should be able to fix you up with either the old or new style at a reasonable cost. Sometimes you can't depend on the FLAPS to keep from getting a generic "taiwan" made replacement. Jus Passin Thru.....
