Exhaust Productions, Inc. ( http://www.epiflex.com/ ) makes a variety of these things but you can buy some of their products for much less money from J. C. Whitney. These flexible couplings are actually steel bellows assemblies with a braided steel protective covering. Some of EPI's products, but not the ones available from J.C.Whitney, also have steel braid on the inside. These work well for adsorbing bending motions but they will not accommodate twisting. The section in the tiico exhaust header, as supplied, is set up for twisting motion... More information to the list in a few days...
Michael Blackburn wrote: I was wondering if any of the tiico owners can help me out. I was at a VW show this weekend and noticed a tiico owner had a braided flexible joint between the muffler and the rest of the exhaust pipes. Does anyone know where to get such a part. I have a spring mounted ball joint that is supposed to reduce vibration, but it isn't working well. I thought the braided flexible joint sounded much better. The tiico owner I talked to said he has no vibration problems. I'm tired of my teeth rattling. |
