Hey all, Leon gave me the idea that i might have some hoses that are leaking in air where the hose clamps are during the extreme cooling/heating process(expanding/contracting) I need to put new hose clamps and and radiator feed/return lines.....my question is: Can i use expendable hose clamps on all my coolant hoses? When i say expandable i mean those kind that have to be removed with pliers or special tool and they are "sprung"-always tight when hot or cold....i have no idea what they are called:( Thanks Phil Stanhope 84' Westy w/Tiico
Air entering system thru any of too many connectors if clamps are tight enough for fluid not to leak but just enough for air. Air blocks flow of coolant and water pump just circulates coolant mainly inside engine. Checking for leaks and tightening all clamps should take care of the problem.
