Hi! I've just joined the list. I've owned an '87 Westy for four years now. I love it! Such a well-engineered and thought-out camping vehicle. I added a spare battery, but to fit a deep-discharge (marine/rv type) battery in, I ended up putting it in the bottom vertical clothes closet. Vented to the outside through a hose to a cutout in the side of the van. Ouch! I hated to cut the metal, but it had to be vented out. I want to add a photovoltaic panel. I've temporarily put it in the roof luggage storage in the front. It's about as wide as the top there, it doesn't fit down in the storage area there. So, I'd really like to have a rack mount of some sort. Does anyone have an idea for a rack mount of some sort that would bolt into the luggage storage area, and perhaps allow tilt adjustment of the panel? Is this something I just need to throw together myself from a hardware store? I'm worried, for example, about bolting into the fiberglass shell of the roof. Are there nice ways of doing that with reliable sealing against water? Thanks! -- ==Leonard Sitongia sitongia@onebeam.net One Inextricable Beam http://www.onebeam.net/ |
