I have had, long in the past, a non-cranking starter that I finally traced down to a broken ground strap -- can't remember where it was, exactly, probably something like a tranny to chassis or engine to chassis tho. One of the copper wovenwire straps. All ground straps need to be in place, they aren't they because the factory liked spending an extra $1.00 on each car.
