Hi Matt,

Regarding the multible spark plug electrode issue, I have a question. If the purpose of a spark plug is to produce a hot(as possible)current spark to ignite the fuel and air mixture, why would it be better to have 3 less dynamic arcs for current flow??? Resistance is specifically engineered into the secondary igition system to cause the ignition coil to "grunt" as the primary circuit is broken and the coil magnetic field collapes. Parallel circuitry lowers or reduces the circuit resistance and thus reduces the intensity of the "snap" of the coil's spark discharge by providing lesser amp multible paths to ground.

I believe that the only useful, intended purpose of multible spark plug electrodes is to provide additional ground paths when the primary pathway becomes too wide, usually because the plugs have been left in the engine for ~50,000 miles. This allows for extended service intervals thus lowering the cost of ownership. This attitude is reflected in the present day extended oil change intervals of 7,500 - 10,000 miles. I personally remove my spark plugs every 15,000 miles, clean, regap or replace them and check the compression so I have no use for multible electrode spark plugs.

Considering Ohms law, multible electrodes and their parallel circuits would produce a "weakened" spark arc over several ionized pathways compared to the "lightening bolt" produced when all the ignition coil dynamics are funneled into one pathway to ground.
