Larry & John:

I grew up in that part of the country and spent many hours tooling around in that back country. :-) One thing to note is that at some point, you will enter into Fort Hunter Ligget, which I understand has now been closed to through traffic after September 11th. I am not sure if this is still the case, but you may want to check into it. If you can still get through the military property, you can actually follow this road all the way over to Hiway 101 from the coast. (It will dump you out near King City on Jolon Road)
