Korrigieren- The Eberspacher BA-6 output is 20-22,000 btu. Espar's are just too durn expensive. A cheaper choice that you can fit in place of the BA-6 and is just as reliable would be a later model BN-4. It has an output of 12-15,000 btu, is as compact as a B1LC, and costs much less . Most parts are interchangeable with the BA-6. I have one for sale summer discount I reconditioned it , installed it, and then the Bus was totalled. The customer returned it to me to sell for him.It is complete with rare ductwork. The other one I have may even be more suited for what you are doing. I have another BN-4 that I will sell for less and you can fab your own ducts. It could go under the Vanagon like the BA 6 but since it's smaller it will allow you to have your heat and Winkler too. E-mail me for prices.

I finally got a price on the Espar heaters as possible replacements for my BA6.

I am pretty sure the BA6 puts out 12,000 or 15,000 BTU's but I was trying to decide if that was overkill for the van. Which one should I get?

The B1LC costs $1545 CAD puts out 7,500 BTU's using .07 US gallons per hour drawing 2.5 amps.

The B3LC costs $1945 CAD puts out 12,000 BTU's using .11 US gallons per hour drawing 3.0 amps.

Is the greater BTU's worth the $400 Canadian price difference? BTW, If I can get 3 heaters I can get $150 CAD off the price if anyone is interested...
