Look for wheels with a 5 X 112 mm bolt pattern it must be able to accept 14 mm bolts/studs. Acceptable offset will depend on what width you are considering.

Porsche wheels will not fit either loaf (like your '71) or Vanagon based vehicles. They will require adapters or other modifications like redrilling as discussed in the how-to section of my webpage or redrilling your rear drum and front rotors to the correct pattern.
