I am wanting to take out the A/C unit in my 85 vanagon. Never used, and the 1-owner I bought it from never used it either. The van was very well taken care of. I have turned the fan on and it works well, don't know if the cooling works but it should not be a huge task, maybe a recharge??

Anyway, the next time my wife bangs her head on the overhanging ductwork, I may loose my road trip co-pilot. With 2 bouncing kids in the back, trips are frequent through the "aisle".

A couple of questions: Is it difficult to remove? Is it an aesthetic issue with holes in the headliner and such? If it is removed, does anyone want to trade/buy it?

Thanks,

Scott 85 kid hauler
