Yours is toast. Common thing to fail, the bushings around the shaft
loose their lubricity, moan, squeal, overheat the motor, then fail.
Absolute be-otch to get to. On replacement, some listee rigged a little
capillary tube through the dash so he can lube the bushings if they
start to moan. Worth considering.
