As I reassemble the dash after my wrestle with the fresh air fan, master cylinder... I'm thinking about the speedometer cable. The speedometer bounces around quite a bit at low speeds, which clears up at higher speeds... My recollection is I should not lubricate it up behind the instrument cluster. Am I correct on this or is my memory marred by too many VW fixes (71 Bug, 79 Rabbit, 87 Cabriolet, 90 Fox, 91 Vanagon and 99 Passat)?? Anybody out there have a thought? -- Dan Erlandson Flemington, NJ > danoer1@eclipse.net |
