Actually, I'm a little surprised no one attempted to make a "big bore" version of the wasserboxer before. Of course, I've been pondering the Audi I-5 engine...or maybe getting audacious and try to locate a VR5 for my Westy Syncro (but both of those choices would require finessing to get them to stay under the existing deck.) While not as powerful, a drop in wasserboxer that is more powerful (and hence, perhaps less stressed when in use) sounds intriguing. |
