Nolan, you said: << Need a reality check here. My 87 Westy's Dometic has stopped lighting--despite repeated use of the many tricks contained in the archives...>> This recently happened to us. Before you go through the chore of removal, repair and reassembly, (and you *can* do it) try taking off the flue vent cover and putting a vacuum cleaner to the vent tubes. Also check the drain tube inside the van- there was some water insidw my burner. I stuck the vac hose onto that tube as well, and left it there for a short while in order to make certain that all the moisture evaporated. This simple exercise fixed me right up. Make sure that you carefully reassemble the vent so that the flame doesn't blow out when you're driving.
