The non-kosher part is my slight buggering with this part number. That hose has been no longer available from the dealer for quite some time. So long in fact that I couldn't find what the original part number was. So I just substituted my own part number which just so happens to be a part number of another hose which I never sell. The good news is that if you order this hose from me, I'll know which one you want and can get it for you. The bad news is that if you try to use this part number somewhere else you are not going to get the right hose (because it doesn't exsist anyway). Hope this explains things.

I'll tell you, that diagram does not match what I see when I look down on my 85 1.9 L. What I have is depicted on page 19.10 of the Bentley manual, described as 1983-1985 water cooled. This also matches Ken Wilfy's diagram (Van-Again) at the following link

http://www.vanagain.com/19lchc.htm

which he describes as an 83-85 1.9 L waterboxer.

But if I take the part number Ken gives and look it up on Ron's site, I get a description that reads "Feeder Hose, Engine-Rear Htr 'T', 2.1L Vanagon."

Somethin' ain't kosher.

Dave in KC 85 Westy (assured by many that it's a 1.9 L engine)

Does anyone know what the VW part number is for the coolant hose coming off the right side front of the engine going forward? Most likely T's to the rear heater. This hose is one size at the engine and another size at the other end. > >
