My sender came with no P-shaped brace.    Just a sender unit.
How best to ground it?  I thought just threading it into the
head would be sufficient (I did not use telfon tape or sealant
or anything like like).  If the sender wasn't grounded, would
the idiot light still work?  (Mine does.)
