Hi, Yoshi!!

There is a cable that goes from the left front wheel to a little black box
mounted above the spare tire carrier. There is a second cable that goes
from the little black box to the speedometer. This second cable drives the
speedometer. There is a wire that goes from the black box to the EGR/OX
sensor light on the instrument panel or dash board.

In the black box there is a counter which is set by a button on top inside
a detent or  little tube which protects the button. When the button is
depressed, the counter is reset to zero. This counter is designed to count
to either 30,000 miles (or Kilometers) or to 60,000 miles, depending on the
year of your van. In my own 88 GL model it goes to 60,000. When the counter
reaches either of the numbers a switch is contacted and the EGR/OX2 sensor
light comes on.

The EGR/OX2 sensor light is in no way connected to the oxygen sensor
itself. The EGR/OX2 sensor light is intended to serve as a reminder that
the OX2 sensor needs to be replaced. After the OX2 sensor is replaced, the
button on the black box needs to be depressed to reset the counter to zero.
When that is done, the light will go out until the counter reaches the
30-60,000 marke again.

I'm not sure there is anything there to give a pulse for an electronic
pickup of any kind. However, some of the other members of this list may
know how to modify the black box to meet your needs.
