Subject: Hello World! - 1984 Westfalia in Colorado
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hi Everybody,

I'm Joe Angrisani, and I'm the proud new third owner of a 1984 Westfalia. I live in Morrison, CO, just SW of Denver, and I'm new to the world of Westies (though a life-long German car owner). I've had my Westfalia about a week and a half, and I think I'm finally done finding little compartments.

I had to replace the driver's window regulator, the tailgate struts and the rear heater core (all of which I knew of before the purchase), and I threw a real German-parts tune-up on it as well. During the tune-up I discovered an oil-soaked, cracked intake boot and a gushing o-ring at the base of the breather housing, both of which I replaced as well. No great surprises so far, except for one good one: my 185,000 mile 1.9L blew 110ppmHC and 0.38%CO at my E-Test.

I removed the seats and curtains and some cabinets and gave the old girl a proper cleaning down to the unibody. Wouldn't you know it!....there was an awesome camper under 19 years of crud! The stove, water and fridge all work (well, I haven't tried the fridge yet on propane), and with the exception of a front table leg, my Westy appears to be 100% complete.

I am currently reading through the archives and I'm finding many answers to my many questions - What A Resource!! My current plans include adding a house battery and improving the lighting and electrical systems inside.

Happy Trails..... Joe in CO
