Beautiful work Gary............though we've sorta come to expect that from
you. Since others are weighing in with desired mods to your design, here's
my thought. If it was extended to the centre of the hatch then you could
hang one of those spare-tire bike racks on it........................I'd
love to see that!

As some of you may know, I have been working on a swing away tire carrier
for our vanagons.

It looks simple enough, but actually it's a difficult thing to make.
For those of you into tools, I used just about every major piece in my
shop:
milling machine, lathe, tig welder, plasma cutter, oxy acetylene torch,
carbide dry saw, tubing notcher, tubing bender etc.
