 Nolan: Let me know if/when you are planning to pull your fridge. My '87 is having the same problems, (i.e.- works fine on ac and 12v, but does not light.)  As a relatively new owner, I've never got it to light and I want to check the combustion chamber and clean it and the jet/orifice.

But here is some hope. Recently, I tried to pull the fridge and by instinct/luck, did all of the steps in the proper order to allow the fridge to be pulled. In the end, however, I didn't pull it because something was hanging up in back and I didn't want to fool with it anymore.

After (later) checking archives and the Dometic manual, I found that I had done everything right except to disconnect the LP line, the 110 plug, and the 12v wires.  This should be really easy (especially the 110 and 12v, because you can see them right in the cupboard.

Anyway, I plan to tackle this again in the next week or two, as we are planning a big trip to Utah.  Call me if you want to try to do a 2-for-1-Pull-The-Dometic-Fridge-Day soon. Apparently I live somewhere near you (I'm in Alhambra)  Shoot me an email and we'll chat! Maybe we can get at least one of these things to light!!
