Don't use foam for those seals. It decomposes in a decade or so. Use rubber roofing material. Talk to a roofer, he'll get you some. Easy to cut, lasts forever, seals up tight.

Well last spring the fresh air fan was shot and smoking so I pulled out the dashboard on the 91 GL this afternoon and got the fresh air fan out (tough going on breaking apart those 18 plastic "welds". My replacement from VW didn't come with any "weatherstripping" so I was going to head to Home Depot and look at what they had that I could use. Additionally I noticed that alot of the flaps in the heater/freah air box have deteriorated foam seals. The seal looks like the foam stuff they use at times as an air conditioner filter. Thought I might try to glue some into place and get the best possible seal I could. Any experience in this area? Any help would be appreciated.
