Hi Volks,

At the last get together at Roxton Falls with the Quebec Westfalia Club I saw the following types of carriers:

1. swing away bike carrier attached to the passenger side corner of the rear bumper. This could easily be modified to carry the spare. The cost and who sells it I can not remember. There is an ad for this carrier in the Clubs magazine or membership booklet.

2. bike rack attached to the front of the van. There are two receiver hitches attached to the frame just behind the front bumper. The receiver hitches accept 2 square bars about 3' in length. On top of the bars you can attach 1 or 2 regular bike attachments. This arrangement is very stable. This is a DIY project and I am making it this winter.

3. a regular single hitch attachment on the front. Somebody was selling this for $100 CDN.

I am hoping to be at the next meeting near Quebec City and I will take some pictures.
