Adam:
My cooler is 33% larger in size but it weighs 50% more which means it has more aluminum. It uses stock hoses, not included, but I could be persuaded to order some for you.
The cooler lowered my 80mph cruise temps by 12 degrees to 210F and the highest I've seen so far is 232F whereas before I saw 258 once. And yes, I have pushed it.
Lemme know.

Subject: Question about factory style oil cooler
Hello,
I am interested in the factory style oil cooler kit for a 1988 vanagon, 2.1L engine.
From the pic, it looks to be about the same size as stock, and from the instructions, it seems thqt the old stock piece is removed? Does your oil cooler offer more flow? My problem in my van is that i see the temp gauge rise, but it is not out of line at the radiator, so i think that my oil must be hot........I was going to add a oil cooler, but wanted to investigate this first.
Does your kit include new hoses to attach to your cooler? Or do the old ones attach to it?
