Subject: Question about breather pipe on 2.1L
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed"

Is the crankcase breather pipe on the 2.1L just a straight pipe from the crankcase or is there something inside this pipe. It seems fairly substantial to be just a breather pipe but I suppose it has to stand up to some high temperatures as well. Also the hose from this pipe to the intact air ducts seems to be a little worn and seems to be collapsing on itself, not totally yet but the hose is very mushy--Is this normal. My van is driveable and starts fine, I'm just trying to find out why it has lost power. I'm suspecting a vacuum leak but cant tell for sure. Just did a basic tuneup hoping that would cure this problem but it didnt.
