<SNIP> < When I pulled the caps to the vent tanks, I noticed a tar like substance < around the cap, presumably sealing it. Reminded me of some of the < roofing tar that they use under shingles. Any idea if this is what was < originally used? There should be a grommet that fits in the top of the tank. I took my tank down this weekend and found that the bottom half of one of the grommets had had turned to tar. I just ordered a couple from VW (P/N N90100501) at $7.62 each. They are in stock at the Jacksonville VW Depot.
