yes yes, that will be my night tonight...troubleshooting the stuff that is easy.....and cheap...yes, cheap!! It is true, seems like it is only after warm up....I will start where you suggested, following all lines. There is one thing I noticed (please keep in mind it was dark by the time I had the prob, so I haven't had good light until tonight): There are some very small vacuum lines....I think three of them? or maybe one larger diameter one, leading to this central connecting thing (round)..and the two smal small lines come off of that. One small line connects to something on the right side of the engine compartment...the other is not connected to anytthing.....these lines are at the back top of the motor.....this maybe my problem? -----Original Message----- From: SStones [mailto:sstones@idirect.com] Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2002 3:19 PM To: Dustin Fitch Subject: Re: Coolant Bleed Success Yesterday...Today...'85 Surging Idle.AHH!

This is a guess, this is only a guess: You'll want to start by checking the vacuum lines at the distributor advance and then working outward... If it only happens when the engine's had plenty of time to warm up it's most likely going to be somewhere in between the vacuum advance and the idle stabilizer, or between the stabilizer and the manifiold... But this is only a guess. I always guess the easy, free things first, it's cheaper. |
