IIRC, the switch situation is as follows: '83.5 - two switches. One at idle position, one for full throttle enrichment '84 - one switch. Full throttle enrichment only '85 - no switches. What you're seeing is how it should be. I suspect that your irregular idle is a function of a failing/failed idle stabilizer.
