>Subject: Is 100,000 miles too much? While no expert on the Eurovan-derivative of the inline-5 motor, I can fully attest to their durability in other vehicles. My '88 Audi 90 with a 2.3 L 5-cylinder engine has travelled more than 350 THOUSAND miles with no major problems from the engine. Outside of regular maintenance the car has required surprisingly little other work. It recently completed a rather uneventful trip to Orlando of some 1000 miles with speeds frequently exceeding 90 Mph.. I know of other drivers of Audi 5-cylinder cars who crossed the 200 K mile mark with similarly satisfying results. Perhaps the question should be "Is $5000 too much?" instead. Chris, '85 Westy. |
