Seriously consider the shipping costs and risks of dealing
with an out of state vendor. In my case, I had to return my
Boston Engine four times before finally giving up and doing
a rebuild locally (never got a monetary settlement either,
btw). He split the shipping cost with me, but it was an
expensive experience. Not to mention the hassle of R&Ring
the engine so many times...

Remember the recent guy who is burning oil big time? Hint:
not a Boston Bob
Engine. I have a stock 1.9l Boston Bob engine and can not
complain. It
just got me through a 1200 mile tour of the Adirondacks and
didn't miss a
beat. Used no coolant and only a few ounces of oil. Ran
into another
happy Boston Bob customer at one of the campgrounds. Don't
write him off
until you have talked to him personally. I don't know
anything about his
high performance variants, but he seems pretty interested in
pursuing more
hp from the 2.1l wbx.

Neither. With apologies to Boston Bob, he is on the wrong
coast. AVP is
every bit as good a
rebuilder, and in California, so much less shipping time and
cost.
Check http://www.avp-worldwide.com/index.html
I put an AVP rebuild in my van several years ago, and have
had no problems
at all. Their
customer service is topnotch.
