Folks,

Thanks to all that contributed to the "2.2L EuroCars Engine vs 2.1L Boston Engine" thread.

I have summarized the inputs and would like to ask for ADDITIONAL COMMENTS.

Also added "AVP in Calif." to the mix.

This is a rather important decision and I'd like to make sure I'm well informed ... especially since I ain't no "Gear Head" like many of my esteemed fellow List Members :)

In the end I will be deciding which Engine to put in my New 90 Westy Syncro

ENGINES -

Eurocars: www.eurocars.bz

2.2 L 115Hp Engine $3500 exchanged

Boston Engine: http://www.bostonengine.com

2.1L Long Block Stock $2300 exchanged

2.1L Stock Valve Upgrade $2725 exchanged

2.1L "Big Valve" Upgrade $3050 exchanged

AVP: http://www.avp-worldwide.com/engines.htm

2.1L Long Block Stock $1750.99 exchanged

Vanagain ... Ken Wilford:

2.1L Secret Project / More HP .... details soon per Ken

FEEDBACK SUMMARY -

* West Coast & Denver (EuroCars) Rebuilder has advantage over East Coast because of shipping costs and customer support (I'm in AZ)

* Smog issues ..... need to be sure an engine is warranted to pass AZ Smog (mainly a concern for High Performance Engines)

* 2.2L Eurocar Engine likely to require Premium Octane Fuel

* All rebuilders have a solid fan base of satisfied customers. Eurcars has small base because new to the game. Have only been able to identify one List Member with direct experience.

Input greatly appreciated.
