I use a Sony CD Mavica 300 for my stuff - OK... it isn't cheap, but mighty cool for the following reasons:

- 2048x1536 resolution - 90+ images on one mini-CD (low compression, high quality) - Don't need a computer to 'off load' the images, just insert a new disc

It cost me $2000 CAD last September, that was with all taxes included (14.5%) a box of CDs (~$40 CAD) and an upgrade to the three year warranty.

If you go to http://www.fastforward.ca/gallery and look at the photos there, they were, since September, done with the Mavica - remember these pictures are REDUCED 50%!

To save some $$$ you can go with the cheaper CD Mavica 200 - basically the same camera only 1600x1200 resolution and no Carl Zeiss lens.

I thought I'd ask the opinion of list members concerning digital cameras being used out there. Anything these days in the cheap yet acceptable department? I want decent pictures, but I don't need to blow them up to 5 feet by 6 feet.

I know this isn't directly Westy, but it will allow me to get some images and perhaps do up my 100Ah Left Rear Battery installation for others to reference (like the Sittsers' did). And it's nice to get the opinions of people using stuff, not selling stuff!

Anybody who knows care to make a few comments about the world of digital cameras?
