I think this answer is much too simple, and no one see's this. No Tape Please. No drill holes No glue too. I just buy console with 4 cup holder in it. It now does good, and no holes or glue to spoil inside. I put maps and glasses, and coins in it too. Some even have cooler in it.

Good evening,

To what "vertical surface" are people attaching their various cup holders? I don't really see a good spot, especially since I have crank windows. Or are people drilling into the foam dash itself? I haven't put any in my '82 yet, but plan to once I've finished with more pressing problems. On my '75, though, I bolted them to the inner sides of the seat pedestals. This still left enough aisle space to walk through. The swivel bases on the Vanagon may make this too much of a reach. My other thought is to fasten them to the plastic heater duct cover, one on each side of the shifter.                           _ _     __ _ _   _| | | | David M.
