Subject: Vanagon For Sale. Toronto. Not Mine
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

I pass this vehicle on my drive to work every day. It has been for sale for at least a couple of months. The body is very customized, Air-cooled, no lower grille (No AC I deduce). The back end is quite nicely customized with low skirting (Which makes it difficult to stick my head under and try to figure out what the engine is). It is not a stock engine back there, the tail pipes are visible on the left side of the van, one before the left rear wheel and one very artistically coming through the skirting... A spoiler has been added to the rear of the roof (Not the SA type that terminates at the rain gutters) with a third brake light in it. It has one of those boomerang like T.V. antennas in it. A console between the front leather seats contains a T.V. and VCR for the middle seat passengers. From the size of the speakers behind the rearmost seat I'm going to assume that the stereo is impressive. The instrument cluster has been totally replaced with a nicely made unit full of VDO gauges. Ummmm. What else do I remember about it? Oh, The "for sale" sign covered up the VIN so I didn't get a chance to get the exact year or anything... Really pretty rims that I don't recognize. The dashboard (Other than the instrument cluster) was basically shaped like a stock dash, but had a plastic-wood grain panel and the word "Limited" on it... Dunno if this was some Wolfsburg/Tristar/Bluestar/etc. thing or what...

Anyway, it's not mine. I can't speak for the owner, but the rust free silver van certainly is an eye catcher with all the customization that someone's given it.

The sign said Tony (416) 588-7007 as a home number. If you're interested he'll likely know way more about it than I do.
