Subject: Power Chip for Digijet Vans now available!
Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

If you missed the Boston Engine post, I thought I would repost with a different title.

Bob and I have been working on getting some chips from ECUs from Europe that are for the fabled DJ 2.1l engine (115 horsepower waterboxer). We got one for testing and Bob tested it this weekend on a dyno in his '85 Vanagon that has a 2.1l big valve engine in it. He got a 20% increase in power on the dyno (not my seat of the pants, or some fairy tale where we quote numbers from a book that we have never seen). This chip is more agressive in the fuel mapping and would be an upgrade for anyone with the Digijet system (83-85 here in the US). We are going to start selling these upgraded chips already installed in ECUs for $250 plus your old ECU as a core.

If you felt left out by the Australian chip being an older Vanagon owner, now is your time for happiness :) This upgraded chip would be a must have for any folks out there that are running 2.1l engines in thier used-to-be 1.9l Vans. You should also see a performance increase in a 1.9l engine but it might not be as drastic. You will need to change your timing and mixture after installing this new chip (something that is required when you do any kind of performance upgrade). If you are interested in these chips please email me or Bob. I am going to be selling just the chips, while Bob is going to be selling them with his engines for now, and then in the future we will probably both be selling just the chips. The chips are soldered in so we won't sell the chip by itself, but get in core ECUs and install the chips in them for you. We already have a few that should be ready for shipment by next week so if you are interested let us know.
