Definately...a length of 16-gauge 'primary wire' is handy, too. With crimp-on connectors and 16-gauge wire you can fix most VW electrical failures. ;)

Fluids, of course -- coolant, oil, brake fluid, ATF, maybe a bottle of fuel treatment in case you get bad fuel somewhere. Waterless hand cleaner and paper towels. Duct tape. Bailing wire.

And of course a cell phone. A cell phone will get you out of more fixes than the rest of the stuff combined.
