Dave,

Can't tell for sure from your picture but my guess is it's there and you're
not seeing it.  It's very well hidden under the throttle body. Looking
straight down on the throttle body, you should see the back side of the
plate sticking out on the rear side.  If it's failing a continuity test at
the plug (which by the way is mounted on the right side intake runners),
then you might as well remove the throttle body so you can work on it.  It's
virtually impossible to diagnose a problem with it while the throttle body
is installed.  I just recently went through this and found my switch to be
stuck in the off position.  There's a little rubber boot that covers the
switch button and the button was stuck behind it.

Hmmm...  Bentley shows several variations on the throttle valve switch.  The
text indicates that a faulty switch or improper adjustment can cause the
irregular idle that I'm experiencing.

Problem is, I can't find it!  I see NO electrical connections anywhere near
the throttle body nor do I see the adjustment plate or the switch itself!

Can anyone help?   It's a 1985 1.9 L Westy Weekender.
