I now carry a fuel filter. I got a tank of gas laced liberally with water on a recent trip to Newfoundland. I credit the gas line antifreeze that I always carry with getting me to a campsite. I had to get towed from there --- the garage drained the gas tank but the fuel filter was hosed. On my 84 the fuel filter has different hose sizes going in and out --- so a generic filter doesn't fit. The mechanic managed to get a new one on with a collection of fittings -- but it wasn't easy. I'll just carry a spare henceforth. I figure bad gas is always a posssibility --- and a bottle of dryers is cheap, easily stored insurance.

Cheers, Doug
