Dave,

You have the dual function (single) throttle position switch. The switch is almost straight down below where the cable attaches to your throttle body. All you can see from the top are two small allen head screw fittings (likely covered in crude)in a triangular plate molded into the bottom of the throttle body. The electrical connection is on the right side of the engine buried under the hoses and attached to the intake runners -- the (white, crude covered)wires originate from below the throttle body.

When you find it and start trying to adjust it you may find that the gap specs in Bentley will not work. Adjust the idle position to the smallest gap you can get and still get the switch to function. The base plates either warp or wear to the point that the switch will not return to the idle position reliably with such a small tolerance. When I replaced my TPS I used the indicator light on the Digitool (thank you Darrell)and opened and closed the throttle while adjusting the gap until I got consistent operation. There's a good chance that the cam plate has corroded itself in place and will be almost impossible to break loose without removing the throttle body.

Is that throttle cable attachment arrangement standard for a manual tranny? It looks nothing like what is on my '85 auto.
