Subject: winter insulation...

Has anyone winterized their vanagon for winter camping? I'm looking for ideas on how to make the interior warmer when using my plat cat heater. I already have a heavy opaque sheet behind the front seats to keep the warmth in the camping area. I want to make some kind of window pads that I can stick on the windows under teh curtains to keep the cold air from the glass out. I also might put additional insulation in the sliding, and rear door panels. I also am interested in putting a small thermostatically controlled 12 Volt heater in the water tank to protect it from freezing (modified fishtank heater?). I'm also interested in winterizing the poptop.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Andrew Fox 86 Westy Ft. Collins CO
