Not forgetting that great benefit to Volkwagen themselves: that with the absurd prices they charge for anything remotely matching the criteria 'Syncro' and 'Spares' they can afford to invest deeply in new vehicle development; thus we're helping them produce a balance of payments deficit both in the US and UK.
