Subject: Tiico--After market water temp gauge/oil temp gauge
              question.......

i recently installed the coolest-(literally)opperating thermo switch/thermostat into my Tiico I4. I might have created another problem: running oil temperatures. Someone said it is important to get the engine oil up to around 104C

Since my water temp guage has been screwy ever since my tiico install, i plan on installing an aftermarket setup.(needle 3/4 to all the way "hot")when my engine is now averaging 185-195F)

Is there any way to tap a sensor into the coolant reservior without drilling another hole into the tank?

And on the Tiico head facing toward the front of van, IS THIS where the oil temp/pressure idiot light goes to? Perhaps this area can be tapped with yet antother sensor?

Thanks for reading this misspelled nonsense. I bet I could avoid all this if I just bought an old junk Toshiba Laptop and a VAG software/cable permanently installed in the dash whilst i drive around.
