Teflon might work. I have a desoldering tool with a nozzle made of teflon. It's a white, hard plastic. It stands up to the 400+ degree heat of a 40 watt soldering iron with no problem. I'm not sure if it'd be soft enough to really quiet the rattle, though. It'd be less raucous than metal on metal, at any rate. ;)
