I would say the first picture is just a facelift of the Eurovan.

Perhaps some front-end modeling like the passat, making room for larger engines (W8 etc.) Perhaps some new engines for the T5 are installed in the last editions of the Eurovan. Would attract some customers for the last T4s...

on the Web I found a picture which could show the new T5. It is planned to be introduced on the market end of next year.

If you will take a close look you will find the body of the Eurovan, but the engine compartment is different. Wheelbase and trackwidth seems also to be different.
