Tim et al,
I would bet that the p.o. had an alarm in the van at one time. The last
alarm that I purchased (for my work truck) had a line in the instructions
stating that the voltage sensing function would not work properly (it would
go off all the time) in a vehicle with an analog clock.

I personally love falling asleep to the ticking of my clock.........

A few months ago I bought an 80 Westy, and among other things, the clock
was not working. Today I took a peek a the wiring to the analog clock
and saw that the connector had been purposefully disconnected to the
clock, covered with electrical tape so that there was no chance of it
connecting by itself. I plugged it in and it works-keeps accurate time
so far. Despite the ticking, it doesn't seem to be a bomb....

SO...my question is, other than to stop the ticking noise, is there any
good reason to disconnect the perfectly functioning clock? Is there
something I'm missing here?
