The best picture I could find of this is in the Bently 1980-1991 edition, page 10.4. The top right picture identifies nuts on studs on the bottom of the clutch housing. The stud on the right side has apparently worked its way loose. In checking, it would seem that the stud is an SAE rather than a metric. Seems to be slightly smaller than the stud that is holding on the other side. Guess something pulled out in the past and someone attempted to fix it. Since I looked and could not find out anything about this stud, does anyone on the list know the size of the screw and how long it is? I guess I am going to have to pull the trans to fix it. Has anyone had this problem before? If the threads have been stripped, what is the best fix? A Heli-Coil? William |
