Yes, there is a electronic cutoff that keeps the pump from running if the tank is too low. It was only used on 80/81 models AFAIK. Panels that have it have 2 red leds for the bottom 2 on the left. The best bet is to bypass the cutoff as it is not really needed and it causes confusion to say the least. Pmail me if you want an easy way to bypass it.
