I have been bothered lately by this same issue of the fan running so much (especially when the fridge isn't even running but the cooling fins are just hot because of the interior temp of the van during the summer heat) and running down the battery. I have been looking into ways to at least have the fan only be able to come on when the fridge is in use. I did read about someone on the list who installed a second, quieter, fan and a switch that could be used to select between the fans or, I believe, deactivate both fans. I was hoping to come up with some sort of relay circuit to do the job of cutting power when the fridge is off. While I am at it, I want to wire the circuit so that when the fridge is running off 110AC, the fans would be powered by the outside power instead of the battery (maybe a 12VDC wall transformer pluged into the outlet inside the cabinent to the right of the fridge).
