In a recent visit to a VW dealer Parts Counter I was told that current parts inventories must rotate every 30 days or the Dealer is to return to part to the regional distribution center. I thought that this was a rather strict inventory policy but the parts manager says it works OK since they get delivery within 24 hours on most parts. In seven years the dealership had never had any item except a lifter, everything else had to be ordered and I got it in about two days. I assure you that I have bought very little from the VW dealer. That little 3/4" long spring under your distributor is $16.00, the little brass horn contact under your steering wheel is $15.00.
