I'm not sure where you got your information, but I am pretty sure Norton
can detect all variants of the Klez virus as well as, if not better
than, Trend Micro (housecall). That is, as long as you update your
definition files. I have deployed Norton at an enterprise level and
find it to be very solid (never had an infection w/ over 2500 users) and
Symantec is quick to get new definitions to their site for manual and
auto updates.

Good afternoon,
After reading about the virus that got sent to the list, I just thought
that I would post some information that might come in handy.......some
viruses cannot be detected by Norton or many other virus detectors,
removers, etc. For example the klez virus cannot be detected, it goes
into your computer as a hidden running program and disables any Norton
type things that you have, so when you run your computer it boots with
it, sends itself out onto your network (if your networked), and procedes
to eat programs and files. To check your computer for viruses that may
be reeking havok on your PC but cannot be detected one can go to this
site...... www.housecall.antivirus.com , click on the free household
icon and follow the directions. It scans your computer for viruses, and
can detect the ones that screw up Norton programs. I had to do all this
stuff from work, and then fix all the computers that got infected. The
computer that had the original virus had to have windows completly
re-installed because it was too late, and had eaten to much. Programs to
take out the virus I was able to find at Symantec site, and saved the
rest of the computers. Now I try to go on the housecall site and run the
virus detection program every so often to make sure that theres no
hidden viruses in my computer.
Just thought that this might be useful info to people that may not know
what to do.
have fun,
Tracy
