Has anyone considered installing an RV water heater such as a Suburban 6gal or 3gal in a Westy? I realize these units have huge hideous doors and require cutting a large hole, but could they be modified to vent through the fridge flue or install a second flue without cutting? I was thinking these heaters could be used for a hydronic heating system inline with a low wattage pump and a thermostatic control. I ran across this article and it got me to thinking: http://www.solarhaven.org/HPArticle.htm Maybe circulate water through an automotive coil or run hydronic tubing under a false floor. Tap off for hot showers. Crazy idea? Anyone have experience with these types of heaters? gp 87 Syncro 86 GL 7p |
